When I was only ten years old I actually wanted to be a priest. True story. My dad had always told me how I raved about becoming a priest in our local Orthodox church. Fast forward to today and you can barely talk about a passage from a holy book without me grimmacing in defiance. It’s funny how life throws us curve balls and we just flow with it’s current. Today my beliefs are just wide spread speculation with no actually essence of reason, none to set my burden upon. I find myself in search for the most rational reasoning behind our very existence, in which always tends to lead me toward science. I mean let's face it, if we are ever to find concrete proof of our origin or the mystery that is life, you know science will be our deliverer.
Fast forward a little more until my teenage years and I can tell you about how I use to juggle two activities exclusively during high school. I used to play shooting guard for my old high school Basketball team. We weren’t the best team around but we definitely weren’t fish food for the opposing teams. I have very fond memories of playing Basketball throughout my years. I made tons of friends and build long lasting relationships that I still have to this day.
The other activity I thoroughly enjoyed and was a part of, was Boxing. I boxed from the age of fourteen all way through my twenties. I would be in the boxing gym for nearly four hours at a time three days a week. I grew attach to the sport and the people surrounding me just made my stay there ever more satisfying. Towards the end, I actually became quite good as well. So good that they used to have me spar with Quebec’s very own golden gloves amateur champion at the time. I mean, he still whoop my behind, there’s no denying that, but I always had a blast learning from the best. Those years was one of my most memorable and unforgettable time of my life.
